The Rose Ensemble’s “Temperance and Temptation” concert echoes the historical overtones and energy to be found in our January 26th “Land of Three Faiths” concert in Wait Chapel.
The Rose Ensemble performed their “Temperance and Temptation” concert fall of 2011, which focused on telling the history of the American Prohibition Era through Jazz, Bluegrass and Gospel. The choir was fully costumed in period garb, and the performance featured a series of historical anecdotes and amusing side characters. The group traveled throughout Minnesota creating an “audio journal” of their experience. The reactions and stories of audience members below testify to the dynamism of the concert!
Listen to these “audio postcards,” or stories from audience members and Rose Ensemble musicians, to relive the excitement of recent Rose Ensemble concerts!
